First Month Evaluation

This is where start to lose myself. The first month of football is almost over with 1 week left. Currently Jarod Mayo and his team are 1-2.  Jacoby is 61% completion to go with 368 passing yards so far. Coming into this year I expected us to run the ball because if our quarterback room. Jacoby Brissett is a bridge quarter back and does not do well when has to pass more than 25 times in a game. Each WR has under 10 catches through the first 3 games. With our TE having 12 catches so far. These low catch stats are on both the QB and WR fault. Brissett is not skillful enough to extend plays or put the ball on the money for our WR. Meanwhile, our young receivers have trouble getting separation from the defenders. With Kendrick Bourne being out we have KJ Osborn as our veteran WR with only 5 years in the league. Every other receiver has 3 years or less besides Kendrick. The lack of experience shows on the field against defenders with more experience. Yes, we have coaches that are supposed to train and teach. But having someone tell you information that is also on the field can be better than what the coach says, strictly because they are on the field and know tactics to get an advantage.  But thankfully we had a good 1,2 punch with our running game. Having Stevenson and Gibson leading charge. They were able to keep us competitive and, in the game, the last 2 week. But in our prime-time game against the Jets our true colors shined. Rushing on 15 attempts for 28 yards and passed 16/26 for 61 passing yards. Just a horrible day all around. The o-line could not keep them off of Brissett or open up any holes for our running back t run through. Meanwhile on the defense Aaron Rodgers was doing Aaron Rodgers stuff again. Running, passing, directing he was the key reason to their success. The Patriots defense had no chance on stopping him throwing for 267 yards, 26/37 completion.
      If they are going to be able to keep these games close, I will still be in attendance. But if it reverts to how things were last year, I will have to reframe from watching any football and possibly changing the title of my blog posts. This week we are playing the 49ers. I do not see us doing well at all. Fred warner at Mike and Nick Bosa on the defensive end is going to be difficult throwing across the middle and running outside. Brisset should expect constant pressure most liking having max protection to compensate for nick bosa.

Patriots week 1

 This week I would say caught most of America by surprise. We got to see a totally new team take on a supposed titan to take down the chiefs. My hopes for the season are not high. I do not wish to win but if we do I would like at least 7 wins. Reason being I believe that would be a great start to Jerod Mayo coaching career. Mainly because of all the pieces that need to be filled. But if we lose I want to lose and get a top 5 pick in the next draft. We have some good and some great plays that happened in this game.With Brissett returning to the patriots his debuted wasn’t great but it wasn’t horrible. He threw 15/24 for 121 yards.  and made a couple of plays with his feet.I do not expect too much out of brissett this year because he is a bridge a for the moment. He has great morale and leadership skills but I do not see the patriots resigning after drake maye start. Rhamondre Stevenson had a good game 120 yards and a td on 25 carries to start the year. Mid season Recap

 We will not discuss numbers this week because the more I look at them, the more I get irritated. We are through the first half of the season, and we are 2-7. our first win was a fluke. Just as Dr.Strange told Iron Man, he has 1 chance to beat Thanos. We then went on a six-game losing streak consisting of the Jets, Seahawks, 49ers, Dolphins, Texans, and Jaguars. We should have recovered to, at the bare minimum of 3 for these teams. We should have beat the Jets, dolphins, and Jaguars. The Jets are a trash team that we were able to hold in the first half. And then 2nd half came, and we all forgot what a football was. The Dolphins had lost their starting QB to a concussion 2 weeks before playing us. The dolphins and jets are in the same division, meaning they play each other twice yearly. And these games typically help predict who is in the playoffs at the end of the year. OMG Drake Maye

DRAKE MAYE BABY WOOAAAHHHH. Finally, patriots' fans had some sort of watchable football. I was discussing the game and previous games with my dad. I did not expect to win this game at all. But it was a day for Maye to step up and show us what he can do. And he most definitely did. One thing that has not changed is the play calling. In one of my other post I discuss the type of pass Brisset was making mainly short underneath routes. It was both Brisset and Alex Van Pelt our offensive coordinator. While Maye is a rookie starting in his first game in week 5 he still can throw dimes. His first touchdown pass is what we the patriot fan base been waiting for. A Throw down field. A 40-yard bomb down the sideline for a first time touchdown for both Maye and Boutte in week 5. and then another first-time touchdown to Pop Douglas.  Maye did have a good day. He threw for over 265 yards with 3 passing touchdowns. He had 2 interceptions but if you watched the game, he really only threw one. ...
